Not many people are aware that Indonesia was somehow related to the first introduction of Share Market.
VOC (a Dutch Company) was the first company that issued Company Shares to the public in order to finance its trading venture across the globe (including Indonesia which became its headquarter) in year 1600. (note: resentment towards Dutch colonization in Indonesia is another matter that cannot and should not be discussed lightly here)
Over the last centuries, Share Market has grown substantially to over $90 trillion as recently as 2021.
The key questions are, how does the Share Market influence the global economy (or individual countries or individual households); and how does the global economy affect the Share Market?
